General Accounting Clerk

Position Overview:

The General Accounting Clerk will play a vital role in supporting the finance department by performing various accounting and administrative tasks. This position requires strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accounts Payable and Receivable Support:

    • Assist with processing accounts payable invoices, including data entry, coding, and invoice reconciliation.

    • Support accounts receivable activities, such as invoicing, payment processing, and collections follow-up.

    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of financial transactions.

  • Financial Data Entry and Reconciliation:

    • Enter financial data into accounting software and spreadsheets with a high degree of accuracy.

    • Reconcile bank statements, credit card statements, and other financial records.

    • Identify and resolve discrepancies or issues in a timely manner.

  • Expense Reporting and Reimbursement:

    • Assist employees with submitting expense reports and ensure compliance with company policies.

    • Process expense reimbursements and track reimbursable expenses.

    • Communicate with employees regarding expense-related inquiries and issues.

  • General Ledger Maintenance:

    • Assist with maintaining the general ledger and chart of accounts.

    • Prepare journal entries and post transactions to the appropriate accounts.

    • Support month-end and year-end close processes as needed.

  • Administrative Support:

    • Provide administrative support to the finance department, such as filing documents, answering phones, and managing correspondence.

    • Assist with special projects and ad hoc tasks as assigned by management.

    • Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient and effective operations.

Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred.

  • Previous experience in an accounting or finance role preferred.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP).

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.

  • Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
